The practice of linking reports is used to join clinically relevant reports for a patient. For example, a patient may have had more than one procedure all pertaining to the same medical condition. The radiologist has the option to link his or her findings across all performed procedures. This eliminates the need for a radiologist to dictate the same information on multiple studies and signing out occurs only once.
The Target Study is the exam that is currently selected for justification, diagnosis, or transcription.
The Patient History control lets you multi-select of exams with a status of Exam Done.
A context menu on the right-click of the selected exam(s) lets you link or unlink an exam to the Target Study.
Once exams become linked, the Patient History control displays an icon with a chain link.
Double-clicking or viewing any linked exam in the Patient History control displays the results of the Target Study.
Unlinking an exam moves it back into the Exam Done folder of the Patient History control.
