The Audio Wizard adjusts the audio settings according to the environment the author is dictating in for the best possible sound quality. This helps improve recognition results. You need about five minutes to dictate the text exactly as shown on the screen (including reading out the punctuation that is typed in bold). Read at your normal pace and in a normal tone of voice.
Select Tools>Initial Training.
To start, press the Record
button. The screen
turns gray, indicating that you are recording and you can read the text.
As you reach the end of each screen, the system highlights where it has
reached. When you reach the end of the passage, the screen refreshes and
displays the next screen. Typical training requires you to read anywhere
from eight to fifteen screens.
Begin reading aloud into the Speech Microphone.
During the dictation if the system fails to recognize words (as indicated by the red underline), press the Record button to stop recording.
Position the cursor several words before the error. Press the Record button again and start dictating from the word where the cursor is positioned.
After you have read approximately eight screens, you may receive a message indicating you have completed the minimum amount of training required to use voice recognition.
If you have the time, click Continue Dictating and continue to read up to the total of 35 screens.
If you need to stop, click Finish Training. You will be asked to confirm that you are finished.
When training is complete, click Yes to save your training files.
