This command
is used to schedule an order from the Ordered worklist. Scheduling an
order requires specifying the procedures and selecting the time to perform
the procedure.
To schedule an order:
Select a patient from the Ordered worklist.
Click Schedule Order from the navigation bar or press Ctrl+S.
Click the Appointments tab and click Search to find the next available time or click Search Criteria to narrow your search to specific weekdays or times.
If the time is not acceptable:
Click Next to view the next available time.
Drag the appointment on the calendar grid to a different time and/or day.
To see other days, click Previous Day or Next Day.
To enter a specific day or to view a different week, click the calendar icon. Use the calendar tool to navigate to a different month. Click the arrows near the top of the calendar tool to scroll through the months.
Click OK to finish scheduling the appointment. If there are associated letters or reports, the Print Documents dialog opens.
To move an appointment, position your cursor on the colored bar and drag the appointment to a new time.
To increase or decrease the amount of time for an appointment:
Select the procedure row.
Click the Duration Modifier to increase or decrease the time
To add an additional procedure:
Click Add/Edit in the Procedure Selection section.
Select the modality type using the Group buttons. Optional, search for a procedure code by clicking the magnifying glass icon in the Procedure Code Search (optional) box.
Select a study from the Group drop-down list.
Select the studies in the Studies box.
Select the procedures in the Procedure Code Recommendations box. The studies and procedure codes appear in the Items to Schedule section.
Click OK.
Group Buttons – select the procedure group for the order. Clicking All Study Groups displays all groups in a drop-down list. This determines what study groups are displayed.
Hide/Show Image – appears when an image is associated with a procedure group.
Study Groups – select the group from the drop-down list or by clicking the area on the image. This determines what studies are displayed.
Studies List – select the study. This determines what procedure codes are displayed.
Procedure Code Search (optional) – enter a number to select a specific procedure code or click the magnifying glass to search by partial code or code descriptions.
Procedure Code Recommendations – select the check boxes of procedures to be performed. This list groups procedures under the following categories:
Recommended Procedures – procedures most often performed for that type of study
Procedures – other relevant procedures
Procedures Added Under Another Study – appears if a procedure is already scheduled
Items to Schedule – lists the selected studies and procedure codes. If studies from different modalities are selected, the items are grouped in tabs based on modality type. The modality name and procedure duration appear on the tab.
Duration – allows you to override the expected duration for a procedure.
