To view or configure the settings to be associated with your user account,
click
or select
Tools>User Preferences.
On the Menus, toolbars, and navigation panel:
Menu Visible – determines if the Menu Bar appears on the screen.
Toolbar Visible – determines if the Toolbar appears on the screen.
Worklist preview visible – determines if the read-only patient summary appears at the top of the worklist when a row is selected.
Navigation bar style – determines the appearance of the navigation bar.
Recent Patient Menu Items – sets the maximum number of Recent Patient items displayed on the File menu.
On the Fonts panel:
Click Change to open the Font dialog box to change thefont types, styles, and sizes used in the worklist.
On the Colors panel:
Select the Alternate Colors check box to change the appearance of the application for users with color vision deficiencies.
On the Language Settings panel:
Language – determines the language of the menus and some windows.
On the Barcode Scanning panel:
Scan type – sets how barcodes are interpreted when scanned. For example, Patient ID or Accession Number.
Double-click action – when selected, the double-click action is performed on the row after a valid barcode has been scanned.
On the Settings panel:
Show debug messages – when selected, displays messages if an internal error occurs.
Show procedure picker Image – when selected, displays the image when selecting procedures.
Conference presented by default – when selected, automatically selects the presented check box when the exam is presented in conference mode.
Default Patient Type – sets the default patient class when scheduling, for example, out patient or emergency.
On the Scheduling panel:
Modality sort order – sets the initial sort in the scheduling appointment calendar.
Sort by modality type: keeps all of the modalities together, for example, all CTs or all MRs, regardless of their physical location.
Sort by location/room: keeps all the devices for a hospital, section, and room next to each other (alphabetical sort).
Hide unavailable modalities – when selected, user can choose whether to include unavailable modalities when using advanced search while scheduling.
On the Film Management panel:
Folder selection mode – sets the preferred mode for row entry in the Film Management Loan and Batch Move screens. The options available for selection are:
AllFolders: returns all available folders for the entered Patient ID
SingleFolder: the form waits for the user to enter a specific Folder Number before returning the requested data
LatestFolder: returns the folder with the highest Folder Number for the entered patient ID
Default to exam mode – opens the Film Manager in Exam mode when you log on.
On the Seek Controls panel:
Seek speed – determines how fast rewind and fast forward move. Minimum speed is 5 and maximum speed is 30.
Resume play after seek – resumes playing immediately after using the rewind or fast forward buttons.
Double-click seek – double-clicking the rewind button moves to the beginning of the dictation and double-clicking the fast forward button moves to the end of the dictation.
Play during seek – gives feedback during rewind or fast forward. Use the feedback to determine where to stop in the dictation.
Auto backspace interval – sets the amount of time for automatic rewinds. When higher than 0, pressing the rewind button during playback automatically rewinds and plays back the interval you selected.
Double-click speed – controls the interval for clicks to be counted as a double-click. This ranges between 150 and 1000 milliseconds.
Default recording mode – sets whether insert or overwrite is the default recording mode.
On the Screen Controls panel:
Stop on play release – releasing the play button stops playback.
Stop on record release – releasing the record button stops recording.
Show speed/tone controls – determines if the sound controller track bar is visible. The track bar is used to manually adjust the speed and tone in the dictation controls.
On the SpeechMike Control panel:
Stop on play release – releasing the play button on the SpeechMike stops playback.
Stop on record release – releasing the record button on the SpeechMike stops recording.
Confirm records – when selected, recording requires confirmation. Pressing the record button on the SpeechMike Control sets the dictation as record-standby. Pressing play while in this mode starts recording. Pressing play again resumes standby mode. To stop recording, press the record button again.
F1–F4 – sets actions to the SpeechMike buttons.
On the Foot Pedal Actions panel:
Lets you assign different actions to the three pedals. The list of actions available is play, rewind, fast forward, and stop.
On the Word settings panel:
Hide menus – displays the report without sidebars
Shade user inputs – displays a gray background to fields you can edit
Open Word on diagnose – determines if Word opens to create the report. Select the check box if you primarily type your reports. Clear the box if you primarily dictate your reports.
Word Zoom Level – sets the default zoom level of reports. This determines how much you can see of your report at a time.
Show Report Helper – when selected, displays the reporting helper automatically when diagnosing an exam.
Word Layout – sets the default view when viewing reports: normal, print, or web.
Use custom backcolor – when selected, uses the color selected from Word Background Color.
Change – sets the color of the report within RIS.
On the Report printing panel:
Use print rules – determines at what status the report is printed
Report transcribed
Report sign three
Report sign two
Report sign one
Report dictated
